New Law on the Bar: the Guarantees of the Conduct of Activities or Disregard for the Independence of the Institution?

On September 6, 2018, the President of Ukraine submitted to the Verkhovna Rada the draft Law “On Advocacy and Advocacy Activity” No. 9055. The new law implies the definition of the foundations of the Bar in accordance with the best international standards, ensuring that the advocacy fulfills its constitutional tasks of providing professional legal assistance, as well as the creation of prerequisites for the formation of a single legal profession, and will facilitate the practical implementation of the rule of law in Ukraine.
