On the 21st of November 2014 Odesa branch of the Ukrainian Bar Association under the leadership of the Head of the department Svetlana Panova held a roundtable on the topic “Legal regulation of work of seafarers”.

The discussion was attended by leading practitioners of well-known law firms in Odesa. In particular, Yulia Pelikh and Alexandera Novikova – lawyers of the “Legal Bureau Sergeyevy”- told about the features of the conclusion and implementation of contracts of employment of seafarers, as well as the practical aspects of compensation under the seafarers’ contracts of employment. Artem Volkov, head of the Committee on Transport Law and Leader of Maritime Law Practice of the Law Firm “ANK”, highlighted the practical aspects of receiving the insurance compensation in case of disappearance of the seafarer in the sea. Discussion of the topic of the roundtable was lively. Each of the participants learned a lot of interesting information.
