The Roundtable “Arrest of sea ships”

According to Svetlana Panova, head of Odesa Branch of the UBA, in 2011 Ukraine ratified the Brussels Convention 1952, which regulates the issue of arrest of sea ships. In Ukraine the Convention has been in force since 2012. In addition, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a separate law, which amended the procedural codes in the part of territorial jurisdiction of cases on the arrest of ships. The discussion was attended by leading practitioners of renowned law firms in Odesa. The participants of the Roundtable have discussed the issues related to the arrest of ships, both in Ukraine and in foreign jurisdictions, and also have told about protecting the rights of sailors on the arrested ships.
